DST provides a system for air filtration in the preparation room. In conjunction with DST’s exclusive PrepAir HVAC system, the filtration program assures the funeral director of a complete ventilating system for a safe and healthy environment in the embalming room.
The filtration program is a two-prong approach, internal and external, for improving air quality. Internal filtration cleans dust from the supply and exhaust streams of PrepAir HVAC units. External filtration removes noxious odors and formaldehyde vapors from the general airstream before expelling it to the outside of the facility. This process of discharging waste air to the outdoors enhances safety measures that protect the embalmer. As well, the external exhaust contributes to a greener environment by filtering air before expelling it.
Internal Filtration
Internal filtration is achieved by means of filters installed within the PrepAir duct work. They are available in washable foam fabrication or as MEF (maximum efficiency filters).
External Filtration
The external filtration system consists of a metal housing unit installed within the exhaust duct of the PrepAir HVAC unit. Each housing unit holds trays for filter sets which are activated with granulated carbon or pleated carbon.
